Iconoclasm: The Breaking and Making of Images
Iconoclasm: The Breaking and Making of Images
Taking place from March 17-19, 2011, Iconoclasm is the 22nd annual international conference organized by the graduate students of the Centre for Comparative Literature at the University of Toronto.
Due to the nature of Iconoclasm, images may be shown that may be offensive to some people. Iconoclasm engages in all discussions in the spirit of Academic Freedom.
In late June 2010, the University of Toronto community was outraged by a proposed Academic Plan that recommended the disestablishment of the Centre for Comparative Literature along with other world-renowned teaching and research Centres.
Although the threat of disestablishment has been lifted, we continue to speak out against the lack of transparency and good governance with which this plan has been proposed. We invite you to join us in our protest of this plan at www.savecomplit.ca and www.academicplan.ca.
